FerrlX – Modified Resin Infused with Iron Oxide Particles for Removing Arsenic from Water
Purolite® FerrIX™ A33E is an iron-infused anion resin that uses iron oxide to complex and remove Arsenic III and Arsenic V from water. FerrIX™ A33E reduces arsenic levels to < 2 ppb and is ideal for municipal treatment plants, point-of-entry (POE) and point-of-use (POU) systems. It is compatible with most existing lead-lag or parallel design configurations and is recommended for either single use or for applications needing off-site regeneration.
The highly porous FerrIX™ A33E beads enable maximum utilization of the infused iron. Superior bead strength prevents the creation of fines during loading and the service cycle. Pressure drop remains low and backwash is minimized, reducing water loss and preventing arsenic-laden fine discharge into the sewer. FerrIX™ A33E can be used in most existing lead-lag or parallel configurations.
Water treatment systems incorporating FerrIX™ A33E resin are designed and operated using the same engineering guidelines as conventional ion exchange resins. Upon prior arrangement with Purolite®, exhausted FerrIX™ A33E can be returned to Purolite® for regeneration under an NSF/ANSI 61 approved process that utilizes full chain of custody documentation. (Note: currently this service is only available in the USA).
