Composite Fiberglass Tanks

Manufactured for superior chemical, corrosion, rust, and heat resistance with high-performance fiberglass and resin materials, these tanks are perfect for a variety of applications. Nationwide tanks are often used for oil and gas, chemical storage, potable and non-potable water storage, and stormwater runoff and fire suppression water storage. Fiberglass tanks are lightweight and easy to install and are perfect for applications that require watertight design integrity.

Why Fiberglass?

There are several choices when it comes to construction materials for tanks. Concrete is a very common material that has been used in storage tanks for decades, but it has limitations. Perhaps the most obvious limitation is the weight. Concrete is extremely heavy, making it difficult to transport, and adds to installation costs. Because of this, concrete tanks must be built on-site instead of the preferred factory-controlled manufacturing environment. Concrete tanks are also subject to cracking, which exposes the steel reinforcement to corrosion and compromises the structure.

Steel is also an old standard in storage tank construction but likewise comes with certain limitations. Corrosion is once again a concern, especially for underground tanks, requiring steel tanks to be lined or coated, which adds to the cost and presents concerns about long-term maintenance. Like concrete, steel is also very heavy and its weight is a concerning factor.

Fiberglass water tanks are up to four times lighter than steel tanks and far lighter than concrete tanks. They are also far more resistant to rust and corrosion than steel and concrete. Fiberglass tanks can also be manufactured in the factory in a single piece, shipped to the site, and installed in far less time and for lower cost.
